Review of Slim Fast Diet - Does Slim Fast Work?

Take a stroll down your local supermarket health food aisle and you won't get far before seeing those familiar boxes with the pictures of those tasty Slim Fast shakes. The concept of drinking a shake to lose weight is simply brilliant. We think of shakes as a "fun food" that's usually deliciously fattening.

Slim Fast is a healthy version of the popular vanilla and chocolate milkshakes. It's hard not to buy a can and sample the flavor. I've had them and I must say they're good enough tasting for something that's supposed to be healthy for you. They don't taste like the milkshakes you're used to, but I found I really liked the chocolate flavor.

The original Slim Fast diet plan was based on having a shake for breakfast and lunch then eating a healthy dinner. However, it fell out of favor when it was discovered that these types of liquid diet plans severely limits a person's calorie intake, making it almost impossible for the average person to not feel like they're starving during the day.

You simply have to get a certain level of calories in order to function normally. Drinking shakes in place of meals is a sure way to get you to go out and binge on a bunch of fatty foods due to the fact that you're so hungry you could eat two fast food meals!

Slim Fast smartly decided to revise their diet plan to make it more realistic and easier to follow. Now instead of two shakes you'll eat small, healthy meals six times a day and supplement those meals with Slim Fast shakes and bars. Much better.

However, if you're thinking that the Slim Fast diet plan is something you can follow for several weeks to drop lots of weight, you're mistaken. This plan is best if followed for short periods of time - like two weeks.

Think of it as a great way to begin to train yourself to eat more healthy in general. Then, after you've weaned yourself off of junk food, you'll be ready to follow a more structured diet plan for long-term success.

So, does the Slim Fast diet plan work?

Yes, it works on a limited basis as a starter program.

Tired of looking at your bulging thighs, flabby stomach and out-of-shape body every morning? Tired of letting food control your life? Tired of not being able to wear your favorite clothes? Well, now's the time to do something about it. Get off the diet yo-yo merry-go-round and change your life for good.
